Day
It has been confirmed that Derby County's Tomasz Cywka sustained a fractured cheekbone in Saturday's npower Championship fixture against Cardiff City. The Polish attacker accidentally collided with Cardiff's Kevin McNaughton in the first half of the 2-1 defeat, with McNaughton withdrawn before the interval suffering from concussion. 22-year-old Cywka scored Derby's equalising goal for Derby in the first half before Cardiff won the game late on at Pride Park. Cywka was assessed by medical experts on Saturday evening where the fracture was confirmed. Yesterday he had his cheekbone operated on. While the club is not willing to put a timeframe on when Cywka will return to action, he is a doubt for Saturday's npower Championship game at Coventry City. http://www.dcfc.co.uk/page/NewsDetail/0,,10270~2123665,00.html
Hucknall Ram
Varney or Doyle will get more of a run in the 1st team now. Let's hope he not out for long.

Leeds Ram
I wonder why the club doctor couldn't have analysed this problem though, you don't need a specialist to ratify a broken cheekbone.
lyndsey
maybe he hasn't got xray eyes?? cheek bone fractures are notoriously hard to detect unless you xray unless its a very bad one
Leeds Ram
well they could just pop him down to the locl hospital where they would do an x-ray very easily and in my experience quickly.
Hucknall Ram
They do go to the local hospital, the nutfield in Littleover, they maybe had to wait for the swelling to go down
