Derby County have been allocated an extra 1,100 tickets for their npower Championship opening day fixture at Leeds United.

Tickets have been high in demand with the Rams' initial allocation of 1,700 tickets for the Elland Road clash almost sold out.

It was confirmed by Leeds late on Thursday that a further 1,100 tickets have been made available for Derby County fans.

These are expected to arrive at Pride Park late on Friday.

Manager Nigel Clough says the fans' support at Elland Road, in front of the BBC TV cameras, will be vital.

He told dcfc.co.uk: "To have sold almost 1,700 tickets already is a great achievement and it would be fantastic to have all 2,800 seats taken up come 7 August.

"Our supporters are magnificent home and away, and we really appreciate the volume of numbers who back us.

"They support will be vital for us once again, and to run out with a full allocation behind us will give us a great deal of confidence.

"Hopefully we can reward them with a positive result and enjoy a good start to the season."

Adult tickets cost £29, senior citizens cost £19 and under 16s cost £15 and are available on general sale.

Tickets can be purchased in person from the Ticket Office, by calling 0871 472 1884 or by logging on to wearederby.com.
