Isn't it on the wrong side of the river or something, County is in the city and Florist aren't?

Funnily enough, Meadow Lane is in the city of Nottingham. However, the City Ground is on the other side of the trent which puts it in West Bridgford, Nottinghamshire.

The name comes from the origins of the club... Notts County was the original Nottinghamshire Football club, and was, funnilly enough, the club for the entire county...

Nottingham Forest was formed later, and is named after their first home, the Forest Recreation Ground in the Nottingham City (then Town) boundaries.

The City ground is named in honour of Nottingham becoming a City, this follows on from the clubs former home (on the other side of the trent - so in Nottingham itself) being called the Town Ground

So in summery the current location of the club is not relevant to the clubs name or the grounds name... and as the club is called Nottingham Forest and the correct abbreviation of Nottingham is Nott'm not Notts then THAT is why it should not be Notts Forest, nothing to do with the location, and everything to do with the name...

that said, if you want to call Forest 'Notts Forest' you go for it... personally i wouldn't waste the effort putting anything before Forest, be it Nottingham, Nott'm or Notts
