Are our loan players really all that?

Recommended Posts

Right let’s just imagine we take all 3 of them out shall we. That leaves us without our top goalscorer and only real threat because we can’t create in open play, our ball playing centre back and the one man in midfield who can get forward. No it’s not the loan players. It’s the pathetic twits around them that run away from challlenges and have the basic touch and passing ability of the local under 5s that are the problem.

If Tomori had had Ayling, Cooper and Jansson next time him last night you'd have see a world beater. That's my personal opinion, I think the problems are either side of him.

I think any criticism of Harry Wilson is ridiculous. For a player who has never even played a full season anywhere to be performing as well as he is shows he has some talent. I've not seen many better strikers of the ball in a Derby shirt.

Mount is clearly a quality player although slightly over hyped by the media and his England call up was probably unwarranted. He needs some steel next to him in midfield.

I started a thread only 2 weeks ago calling into question the 3 loan signings.

I've realised that those 3, Holmes and Marriott are the only positives this season so far. It isn't that the loan players aren't good enough, its just that the other players that belong to us are so below par it makes the loan players look poor.

Lowe, Keogh, Wisdom, Bryson, Huddlestone, Johnson, Josefzoon, Lawrence just aren't good enough.

Bogle has a big future but is still learning.

Waghorn I couldn't comment on as Lampard seems so reluctant to play him.

Hopefully we see a major rebuilding job in the summer, where absolutely anybody is for sale.

My take ..

Tomori - physical and pacey.. not a bad player but terrible in the air and positionally bad. Won't ever play for Chelsea in the prem unless he can improve those things. Champ at best/ lower prem

Mount - Looked the part at the start of the season, think he's got a lot of talent for his age. Has got the potential to dictate a game from midfield and score goals. For some reason he hasn't been getting involved as much going forward. Looks to have taken a whack in form and confidence. Not convinced he will play at the very top level but will likely have a great career in the prem. Haven't even noticed him in quite a few games recently.

Wilson - Brilliant left foot and strike, set piece specialist. Has got a lot of end product but some of his play inbetween isn't great, defensively weak and lightweight. Not sure if he will ever play for Liverpool but again will have a good career playing prem and international football. Not sure his best position.

Couldn't agree more....although Tomori you could just have ended on 'won't ever play for Chelsea '. Not quite good enough mentally. Not aware of what's going on. One on one he is awesome but not a natural enough talent.

Mount is hiding a bit for me.  Not showing for the ball, getting knocked off the ball, taking easy options. Needs help and fast.

Wilson has scored some of the best goals in Europe...a prospect for that alone. Can I see him displacing Mane at Liverpool...? No.

you know  - I think Tomori will turn out to be a really talented CB and he is more likely to be the best and realistic for us to buy - him and Davis could be really good

As for Mount and Wilson  - glamour stuff  - but not generally putting a full shift in- will no doubt think they will get in the top 6 prem

time will tell on all of them

This is what worries me, and I'm starting to think we're wasting this season building the team around them.

They're shoring us up, but is that actually preventing us from developing the players and style to take us forward beyond the summer, when they're gone?

Echo's how I feel.

Kinda in no-mans land in that we're not heading in the right direction by playing them all and we're going to have to start from square one in the summer.

Mount will play at the highest level but right here right now he's inhibiting our team. That's good for Chelsea in the coming years but not our club. I like Tomori but he's miles off being a good enough defender at this level never mind the level above. Wilson's end product speaks for itself but again leaves a lot to be desired in general play. His goals win us games so at times his luxury can be afforded.

I like watching Mount and Wilson, generally poo myself whenever it goes near Tomori, as he indeed does himself.

They all need better players around them to flourish.

one defeat and everybody's poo

Exaggerate much? A number of us have for sometime been saying that we are imbalanced and that a number of players have not been performing to high or even a consistent level.

I've never been a "happy clapper" (you clearly are), or a "wrist-slasher", but I know enough to see that the team is not currently performing very well.

You obviously think all our players are great, so how about giving us your ratings of how each player performed?

I think the OP makes valid points so not sure why some of the responses are so aggressive.

Tomori - let's be honest, he is a defender who can't really defend. He's good in a race and bringing the ball out but defensively he is so weak. Losing count of the goals he is costing us. For both goals last night he had absolutely no idea where Roofe was.

Mount - fantastic at the start of the season but he's been missing for the last 3 months. Right now I'd be starting Holmes ahead of him.

Wilson - his goals have been very very important to us and kind of make up for the fact that he does very little in general play.

In all honesty if all 3 loans were cancelled tomorrow I wouldn't be that fussed.

Is this satire?

Most certainly not. Is your response thus?

It's quite clear from the numerous, and may I say, well balanced replies (mostly, and not including you) that I am not alone in my thoughts

You keep on your happy clapping. I will continue to sèe it how it is

So you think I'm being satirical and then you Ha Ha my reply.

So where do you stand?

Are you capable of a proper response?

Nah, I'm alright thanks, there's enough white noise already without me adding to it
