vicky-27
DERBY County are to sign Manchester City youngster Javan Vidal on loan for the rest of the season. The Derby Telegraph understands a deal has been agreed with City for the 20-year-old and it is set to be completed on Monday. Vidal is an athletic and versatile right-sided player who can play in defence or midfield. Manchester-born, he is a product of City’s Academy and has been a regular for their reserves. He has yet to feature for the first team but has been on the bench this season, including twice last month when City beat Wolves and Stoke. Vidal gained experience during loan spells at Grimsby Town and Aberdeen, where he made 14 appearances in the Scottish Premier League and Scottish Cup. He played against Celtic at Celtic Park and Rangers at Ibrox. The player has represented England at Under-19 and 20 levels. Derby have also been interested in landing Arsenal’s 18-year-old French forward Gilles Sunu on loan. Rams defender Paul Connolly has turned down a return to his old club Plymouth Argyle. Plymouth wanted to take the 26-year-old right-back on loan for the rest of the season. Connolly made 177 appearances for the Pilgrims and helped them to win promotion before he joined the Rams in 2008. His contract at Derby runs to the summer of 2011 but is out of the first-team picture. He has not featured in the last four matches. His place in the side has gone to Nicky Hunt, whose loan from Bolton has been extended until the end of the season. Rams left-back Jay McEveley has been linked with Burnley, where he spent a loan spell in 2003-4, but the Premier League club yesterday landed Danny Fox from Celtic. David
Derby County have today bolstered their defensive options by recruiting promising Manchester City youngster Javan Vidal on loan until the end of the season. The 20-year-old England youth international operates generally at right-back, although he can also perform on the right-hand side of midfield if required. Last season Vidal enjoyed a brief loan spell with League Two Grimsby Town, and he enhanced his development further in the second half of last term with a 13-game loan spell in the Scottish Premier League at Aberdeen. He is a graduate of the Manchester City Academy and is yet to feature for City in a first-team fixture, although he has been a regular fixture in their reserves. "Javan is a very talented young player and we are grateful to Manchester City for allowing him to come here until the end of the season," said Derby County manager Nigel Clough. "He has all the attributes to be a top professional and is comfortable playing at right back or right midfield. "It gives us quality cover in a couple of positions and we believe he will fit right in with the mentality and culture we are looking to introduce to our squad." Vidal could make his debut for the Rams in Saturday's Coca-Cola Championship fixture at Sheffield United. http://www.dcfc.co.uk/page/NewsDetail/0,,10270~1949346,00.html
David
Manchester City have recalled Javan Vidal from his loan spell with Derby County. The young defender joined the Rams until the end of the season at the end of January. City have invoked a clause in the deal where they were able to recall the player after 28 days, and he has now returned to the City of Manchester Stadium. Vidal made a single appearance for the Rams, coming off the bench in the 3-0 victory over Newcastle United. http://www.dcfc.co.uk/page/NewsDetail/0,,10270~1985440,00.html

David
Maybe they thought it was pointless him sat on our bench, or Vidal said to City that he want's to come back as he's not getting the games he thought he would get.

vicky-27
Hhhmm seems like Cloughie got fed up with him having 'mystery illnesses' and not wanting to play The right back hardly trained with the Rams because of a mixture of a mystery bug and other injuries. When he pulled out of a reserve game Clough decided to call off his stay. Vidal had a successful stint with Aberdeen last season but his career has stood still in this campaign and now is heading for a spell in the obscurity of City's reserves
