Thing is we're skint, Clough has got to sell to be able to buy and thats that. The Americans either don't have any funds to give Clough or they are holding off till the summer, either way theres jack Clough can do other than go for loan signings.

Or someone like Nigel Doughty...

Yes he has made mistakes, and yes money is in the equation, but he is a Forest Fan that owns Forest...

he has bankrolled the club to make sure we survive, and grow...

he has taken financial hits to benefit the club

he has invested in players to make sure we get results and move forward...

Yes he has made mistakes, yes there has been transfer windows with little to no activity, but between him and the acquisition panel he has employed he ensures we get good value players in to protect his investment... but still continues to invest!

The only way to make the business that is Football work is to ignore business... Football clubs only make money if they are successful... gimmicks don't help, words don't help, wage cuts don't help - results and progress help... and they take money - it is the ultimate example of the old adage speculate to accumulate

I genuinely don't think Trig and many other Derby fans are being unreasonable when they say the yanks are in it for the wrong reasons, and that you need, want, and deserve someone that is in it for the club and the football! only when that happens will you have owners that make the club truly profitable, which ticks their boxes, and enjoyable to support again, which ticks yours

The thing is Derby don't have a Jack Walker.

Like Pompey and Notts Co have proved Arab investment is not a good idea.

No but that's because while the Arabs aren't fussed about the business, they also aren't fussed about the football, and certainly don't care about the club! It's a game for them, and they get bored easily.

Surely Derbyshire has created some business genius that has made millions and loves his home team enough to make them a success...

There was this guy, but he pulled out.

We were owned by a fan Lionel Pickering (RIP) who got us in to the Prem and built Pride Park but when he ran out of money he was forced to sell the club to three con men and the rot really set in.

I agree with trig and would much rather a fan own the club than investors. Sadly, none seem intersted and I don't blame them with the mess football is in these days.

Every single football clubs owners are in it for the money, football is a business first, sport second. You want someone that simply doesn't exsist and never will.

Roman Abramovich exists don't he?

He's just written off the millions that Chelsea owe him which has meant they are now debt free.

Sorry to piss on your parade mate.
