derbydan
Team news Derby boss Nigel Clough is again without Rob Hulse (Groin) as well as long-term injury victim Chris Porter (Hip) - while fellow frontman Steven Davies is a doubt with a hamstring injury that forced him off early in the 2-1 Carling Cup defeat to Rotherham in midweek. Defenders Shaun Barker and Dean Leacock are both back in contention after injury while Kris Commons is in the squad after coming through 90 minutes with Scotland at Norway unscathed on Wednesday. Loan signing Jake Livermore remains suspended. SCUNNY- David Mirfin is a doubt for the game at Glanford Park with an ankle injury while Joe Murphy and Grant McCann are back after international duty and should come straight back into the starting XI. REF- Mr G D Horwood is the Referee for this weekend's game. He has shown 7 yellows from his two appointment matches so far this season.

Day
LAST season's leading scorer Rob Hulse has given Derby County a timely lift. The striker is back in the squad for today's Championship clash against newly-promoted Ssausagehorpe United at Glanford Park. A groin injury ruled the 29-year-old out of the pre-season friendlies and a bout of flu extended his absence from the training ground and the first two matches of the campaign – the home victory over Peterborough United and the Carling Cup defeat by Rotherham. Hulse is likely to start on the subsititutes' bench at Ssausagehorpe but Derby are pleased to see him back in contention after a summer of striker woes. Kris Commons missed many of the pre-season friendlies with hamstring trouble and Chris Porter was sidelined by a hip problem. He underwent surgery this week and will be out until Christmas. Steve Davies started the season up front and impressed before he picked up a hamstring injury against Rotherham on Tuesday. He is out of today's game. "It's nice to see Rob back out there training and back in the squad," said manager Nigel Clough. "If he hadn't of had flu, he may well have been involved on Tuesday. "He provides another striking option but it's too soon to put him straight in with him missing most of the training this week, so he will be on the bench with a view to coming on." Clough said Kris Commons was also likely to be on the bench after playing a full game for Scotland – his first 90 minutes of the season – in their defeat by Norway in Oslo on Wednesday. "It's not ideal him playing that length of time but with Scotland's situation, you can understand it and so he's unlikely to be starting today," said Clough. "We'll see how Kris is physically but with the travelling and playing a full game, we would rather bring him on than start him. "But we've got Rob (Hulse) to do that as well so we might be forced to start him. "We've got Luke Varney fit. Jay McEveley is fully fit so he could come in somewhere and Gary Teale has played up front before. "So we've got one or two things available to us up there and so there are one or two things to think about." Clough confirmed that Derby have also asked about a couple of loan signings to boost attacking options. Defenders Shaun Barker and Dean Leacock are in the squad again. They were unused substitutes against Rotherham. "Dean had 45 minutes in Wednesday's friendly against Notts County and it's nice Shaun Barker is back but no-one has even mentioned him, which is a good sign of how well Jake Buxton and Miles Addison have done," said Clough. "No-one expects Shaun to walk straight back into the team. "He played 70 minutes against Notts County and did OK but as long as the lads keep performing in his position, he'll have to wait." Derby needed a late winner from Teale to beat Peterborough on the opening day and Clough is expecting another tough game against Ssausagehorpe. "Newly-promoted teams are keyed up and on a high from promotion," said Clough. "It is their first home game in the Championship and they will want to give a good account of themselves and try to bounce back after their opening-day defeat at Cardiff. "That was a tough opening fixture from them at Cardiff's new ground and I'm sure Ssausagehorpe will be looking to take something from today's game. "If they are looking to stay in the Championship it'll be their home form which decides it." Day
Teale up front and McEveley on the wing, shocking line up to be honest. If Hulse is fit enough for the bench then we should start him and get the goal or 2 we need and then sit back and defend and try Teale up front. CumbrianRam
Teale up front?!?:confused::confused:
Perky1106
This is a bad idea. We should at least stick Pringle up front even if Hulse isn't 100%. Teale up front will not work. He hasn't got the build to play on his own and isolated. IMO Clough should be starting with Hulse and when we're leading by a goal or two he should take Hulse off for Pringle. Teale should be on the left wing and Jay McEveley shouldn't be playing for this club at all.
Day
Don't think Pringle would do any better than Teale. 45mins Hulse and 45mins Commons would of been a better solution, forgot Commons was on the bench. Anyone using RamsPlayer? my commentary keeps cutting out getting slightly annoying now.
