Like any lottery, signing a young 'un is no guarantee of having a budding superstar on your books.

BUT, like any lottery, you got to be in it to win it.

Imagine Barca not taking a young Messi on, and he'd come to DCFC instead. Now imagine the young Messi picking up a career ending injury whilst playing for the Rams Academy. No Lionel Messi anymore. Ok it sounds stupid but the point is that the fickle finger of fate points in all manner of mad directions and unless someone is prepared to take a chance on younger players, what future does any club like ours have? We can't import dozens of overpaid mercenaries like Chelski or Man City and we certainly can't compete with transfer fees for even semi - decent players because of the crazy fees paid out by those same clubs that are inflating an already mentalist transfer market.

We either work within our financial constraints and puck these players up this way, or were doomed, I tell ya!
