BondJovi
I think this thread proves how tricky it can be to sort the wheat from the chaff
petersimple
I went to Ireland recently and I was astonished at the range of breads they had on offer in the supermarkets. It's hard to get good bread in this country. Many years ago an old Irishman told me that when he was young - around 1910 - they would just have bread and butter for breakfast and the same for the evening meal. But he wasn't complaining. He said it was wonderful bread - tasty and filling. It wasn't like the usual bread you get today. I know what he meant. I still think about he wonderful loaves I used to get from a health food shop in the early 1970s. It was very heavy crumbly wholemeal bread. I've tasted nothing to match it since.
