Anag Ram
I would like to add something to this thread, and that's the positioning and tactics of the players waiting for corners and free kicks. They just stand in a concentrated huddle. There is no split of front post/ back post or anyone running from deep. That might help the person taking the kick. rammieib
Has anyone read "The Numbers Game?" Some interesting stats there from PL 2010/11. Corners given 1134. 20 % leads to shot and 1 out of 9 of those leads to goal. So only about 2 % of corners leads to goal! No wonder same teams (Barca, Real Madrid etc.) rather just keeps possession. If you took short corners out though and then whittled the last down to those who can take a decent set piece (I.e not Ward), I wonder what the number becomes. Interesting though.
