Animal is a Ram
Because us and Blackburn are founder members of the FL. Burnley vs. Bolton as they too are founder members - Burnley's Turf Moor is one of only three stadia where games during the first season were held and are still in active use. Same goes for Preston's Deepdale, as they will host Wolves. Deepdale has held more FL games than any other stadium. Sheffield United vs. Notts County - Blades have the world's oldest professional football stadium, Magpies are the oldest professional team in the world. Rochdale vs. Hartlepool is the FL's most contested game - the two sides have met 137 times. Accrington Stanley travel to the home of Newport County - the league's newest member, and the league's newest ground.

cheron85
Having had a quick look at the article on the BBC it's a bit of a shame the Premier League haven't honoured the occasion too... 8 of the 12 original teams have league fixtures on the opening weekend... the other 4 teams are all in the Prem... Could have started 2 weeks early to honour the occasion...
