to be fair , most cars , nowadays , don't 'drop to pieces', in the first year..

the Fiat i had in the seventies (great engine , but crap bodywork) i poured concrete in the cills

to get it through MOT..argghhhh..

 

Alfa's were as  bad, in the seventies..

I know, my dad owns a 70s Alfa, I spend half my holidays checking the blasted thing for rust.

 

My first car has been a Fiat Panda, very cheap, and very cheerful. And very reliable. Italian cars have caught up.

 

French cars are the unreliable ones, but they don't get the bad reputation they deserve for it.

understatement , i think i've replaced every moving part on my Trafic van !
