  1. Total dominance. Absolutely battered them. Unbelievable character from the team and really starting to play well. Special mention for Wilson. Absolutely ripped them apart.
  2. Watching this game with Wigan commentary is painful. They’re watching a different game.
  3. No midfield. Ward useless except for dead balls. This is awful watching.
  4. For what it’s worth, I was recently lucky enough to spend some time with David Clowes. A really great guy who loves everything Derby County. I can imagine being that involved can soon take away the love, but absolutely no sign of that. He said a few things that I’m not going to share as it’s not really my place, but hopefully the below gives you an idea of what he’s thinking. He said he’s still expecting/aiming for top 2. He doesn’t think it’s unrealistic and thinks our squad is as good as anyone else in the league. He said that Warne needs to build his team still. Another two transfer windows before he can be fully judged as ‘his’ team. Obviously the above would probably change if we lose the next 5 games, but if we’re hovering around the playoffs for the rest of the season I think he will give him until at least 10 games in to next season (just my opinion of course!).
  5. Think Idiakez was free, signed under Burley then he resigned him at Southampton for £250k.
  6. Rowe had scored 2 goals in about 50 games before today. Then scores 2 in 20 minutes!
  7. A much better overall performance today. The players looked like a unit and were winning everything. To beat a side that haven’t lost away this season and make them look bang average was very impressive. We know that we have the capability now, it’s just doing it on a regular basis.
  8. Derby 1 - 2 Barnsley - NML Barnsley unbeaten away this season so will be a difficult game. Best away form in the league whilst their home form is 17th best!
  9. I’m surprised to see you say Thompson as he hasn’t really played enough to comment. Can see where you’re coming from with Bird and NML. I’d argue that Thompson and Bird were much better in our relegation season under Rooney. NML is an odd one…2 months ago I’d say he’s massively regressed from last season but he has picked it up recently. There’s still a lot of players under performing even with those in mind though.
  10. That’s fair. It wasn’t an attempt at me to start an argument, I’m just genuinely interested to know what part you disagreed with. I was happier against Northampton but that was purely based on Bradley’s forward passing which made a huge difference. But let’s be fair, Northampton and Exeter were absolutely awful and let us run all over them. If we play a team half organised then we have no ideas and no plan B - look at us against Shrewsbury or Cheltenham…you can’t prefer that football! I believe the players we have should be playing to a much better standard than they are and naturally the manager is to blame for that. I can’t name one player that is playing better since Warne took charge? Possibly Wildsmith.
  11. As I’ve said to others, you’re talking about in relation to the standard of the teams around them at that point. Yes they were relegated in 79/80 from the top league and were poor, but they were playing Liverpool, Man Utd, Arsenal etc. They actually beat Arsenal and Spurs that year. In our 11 point season I’d still fancy that team to beat our current side. My point was this is our lowest standard ever. There is not a good side in the league this year like Ipswich or Plymouth, but we’re still miles off the pace. We’re becoming an average League One side and then what next?
  12. Which team specifically? Sheffield Wednesday got 90+ points in League One last year and look at them in the Championship this season. We’re not as good as them, so would easily be bottom in the Championship. Which Derby side have you seen was that bad? Yes we might look like world beaters against Northampton but put this Derby side in the Championship where we’ve spent the majority of the seasons you’ve seen Derby play and it would comfortably be the worst. My point was that we’re at our lowest right now in terms of on the pitch standards.
  13. Appreciate that we’ve had some poor teams in their respective league at that time, but I’d still fancy the 11 point season team to beat our current team.
  14. @The_Sheriff @Motley intrigued to know why you acted angrily to this post? Is it that you feel this isn’t the worst Derby team or that you feel Warne has moved us forward? If it’s the latter then what aspects of the club do you feel have moved forward since he took over?
  15. But arguably playing the worst standard of football of a Derby team ever… I wouldn’t mind the league position if there was a positive direction that the team looked like it was going in, but it doesn’t look like there is a grand plan or philosophy under Warne?
