Appreciate the feedback. I was with 2 young children yesterday and guy in nearby area was giving it some.

What would you do in this instance?

    Challenge him

    Put up with it

    Report it to club

Approach the closest steward and they’ll hopefully address it on the spot. If they don’t, write to the club and explain the situation. I’d be surprised if there’s not something in the rules around behaviour standards in the family areas; there certainly are at Australian sporting venues. We even have an antisocial behaviour hotline advertised on scoreboards so supporters can report such behaviour less obviously.

For the record, I concur with the other comments in the thread; as someone who occasionally swears rather badly, that’s one thing I try never to do; swear in the vicinity of others’ kids. It’s just not on.

  2. I don’t really believe one can sustain an argument that a fan discussion forum can be damaging unless the club is reading the material and basing strategy around fan opinions….and over-sensitivity to fan emotions and running the club like it was the personal fiefdom of a single fan was always one of my criticisms of a certain owner who very nearly killed the club.

The new ownership has been the antithesis of this and I, for one, remain grateful for that.

But what I suspect is the point behind the OP - that some seem to have incredibly short memories barely lasting 14 matches - is absolutely valid. Incredible, really.

So what though? I doubt too many are listening to that. ?

  3. I don’t think it’s unreasonable that you ask these questions but I do think any implication, whether or not that’s what you’re intending to imply, that the level of communication from the new regime has been less than first rate is unreasonable.

Especially given the understandable lack of communication under the administrators driven largely by legal necessity, not to mention the abysmal lack of communication and direct miscommunication from the previous owner.

I’d only add that, in relation to Q6, everything Clowes and Clowes Development have done thus far has been consistent with a clear focus on the best interests of Derby County. I suspect any answer would be built on the assurances already given (repeatedly) to the effect that the goals today focus first and foremost on stabilising the club so that it never again has to face an existential crisis; and the question of ownership will only ever be considered consistent with Derby County’s best interests.

Given the experience of the last two years or so, I don’t want an answer to Q6 that strays from that and I’d be genuinely surprised if there were too many Derby fans who’d disagree wholeheartedly with that.
