Although John McGovern won us the Championship by scoring against Liverpool, Brian never let him forget that he cost him a cup final by the worst back pass I've ever seen> Who else was at Filbert street for the second replay against Arsenal when he passed it back from the centre of the pitch to Boulton(?) only for George Graham to come from nowhere to score the winner? 'http://www.dcfcfans.co.uk/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/sad' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=':(' /> And I wasn't the only one shedding tears of shock and frustration when we were certain that we had thrown away any hope of winning the league by losing 2-1 at home in a match against Newcastle? 'http://www.dcfcfans.co.uk/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/angry' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='' />

So even in the best of the glory years it wasn't all sunshine and smiles.

But I wouldn't change one single moment of it all.

Rams we 'http://www.dcfcfans.co.uk/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/wub' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='' /> you!

I was there. You're right, it wasn't the greatest backpass of all time. In the pub after the game, a few Arsenal fans were asking me and my mates whether McGovern was our favourite player because he was certainly theirs! If I didn't know better, I'd have thought they were trying to start a little bad-natured banter. We couldn't be arpsed, plus we were well outnumbered..

It was THE time to be a Rams fan though. Apologies to all those who haven't been around to enjoy. Unless the Sugar Daddies take their money out of football, Clubs like ours stand very little chance of being involved at that level again.

They were absolute scum, the article sums up perfectly why us supporters of a certain age will always hate Leeds more than florest. I never realised before reading this that Alan Hardaker played such a crucial and admirable role in standing up to Revie, I can't believe that the bigwigs at the premier league today would stand up to the likes of Man Utd with such conviction

There never was any rumours about Derby attempting to bribe opponents. Just the opposite in fact as we suffered with Juventus buying the ref the following season in the European Cup Semi-final.

Obviously the Italians were better at it than Leeds.

Thanks Utch, didn't think Brian or Derby would ever entertain it.

No cheating b*stards will I talk to, I will not talk to any cheating b*stards.
