Basically every single club has bolstered their squad with the exception of us, who have weakened and Coventry who have not added, but diden`t lose anyone major, and have a stronger squad in depth at the moment. Reading have bolstered their overall squad with some youth players, from the U.S and a couple of lower league bargains. That would have done instead of nothing! How on earth are we expected to compete in the next 19 matches I don't know. We are 100% certain to fall into the relegation dogfight now and are the least well equiped side, squad wise to survive it.
CumbrianRam
I'd say Boro have weakend, they have sold off thier two best players!
JohnClement
One of the worrying things seems to be that we have no scouting network, and a manager who's contacts only extend as far as Burton. So even if baron Rothschild was to give us £10 billion, we still wouldnt have a clue who to sign. Obviously some managers have been working really hard in January, not apparently including ours. It is still possible to sign good players on reasonable deals, provided that you are prepared to make the effort, which many clubs have done, as illustrated by this excellent list. To find players, club representatives need to watch games!!
CraigZ
I'm genuinely worried about this season for the first time. I think the good spell a couple of months back might have lulled us into a false sense of security. Last couple of years, you looked at the quality of Commons and Hulse and knew we wouldn't go down provided they got on the pitch for at least a third of the season. Take Commons' 14 goals out of this campaign (even generously assuming that someone in his place may have notched up five) and you're looking at a team in the relegation zone. Sir Me
Doing the maths for the transfers you have posted there were 101 transfers, 43 of them were on loan and 14 free transfers. That's 57.57% of the transfers were either loans or 'freebies out of the bargin bin'. I thought getting loans and free transfers in was the devil's work.... It is if the loan & freebie signings are being brought in to replace your best players when your squad is already pitifully lacking in quality and depth. They work best when you already have a core of quality players that you actually own, like for instance Cardiff.

EdinburghRam
Can you please explain why when we sign non league players they aren't good enough, but when reading do they are "non league bargains".
