1) learn about the disorder

3) try to refrain from intense conflict

and finally 4) just take the piss out of the poor red dog

I find gentle humouring the "red dogs" is helpfull in their handling of their "illness"

Too much humouring can cause the reaction known as the Hilter effect, where any humouring causes irrepairable relations between "red dog" and non "red dogs"

They tend to withdraw into themselves muttering words such as "back to back" and "big club"

They come round in the end though.
