Beckford's gone to Everton

Hopefully this will now stop tedious Beckford suggestion being made.

------------------------------------------------------------

Everton have signed Jermaine Beckford on a four-year deal after the striker's contract at Leeds was cancelled early.

The 26-year-old had been linked with a number of clubs after his 31 goals helped Leeds gain promotion to the Championship in the 2009/10 season.

He put in a transfer request in January but when a £1.5m bid from Newcastle was rejected soon after, he came off the list before linked to Everton.

"I want to test myself at the highest level," said Beckford.

And the forward indicated that the influence of Toffees manager David Moyes played a major part in his decision to move to Goodison Park.

"I've been impressed a lot by him [Moyes]," stated Beckford. "He seems like the type of guy who will sit down and tell you where you're going wrong, what you're doing right and what you might need to work on.

He knows where the net is and with the right service which he will get at Everton from Arteta and Cahill, why can't he make it in the Prem?

The goals are still in the same place as they are in League 1 and he didn't do to bad up at Old Trafford last season.

Defenders my dear boy, Defenders.

Some of the best in the world play in the prem.

Apart from that, your right.

Apart from Man Utd, Chelsea, Arsenal, Liverpool, Villa, Spurs and Man City I would disagree. He will be facing Blackpool, Wolves, West Brom, Birmingham, Wigan, Blackburn etc. I'd put money on him getting at least 10 goals next season no problems.

i think beckford is a championship player at best, moyes is normally good at signing players so im surprised he's gone for beckford. He might get a few goals against the lesser teams but i wouldn't say he is consistant enough fo everton
