Derby County have concluded their business on transfer deadline day, with experienced Premier League midfielder Michael Tonge and young Manchester City starlet Javan Vidal both joining on loan.

Going in the other direction is Serbian forward Alex Prijovic, who has left the Club.

28 year old Tonge joins on a season long loan from Premier League Stoke City

20 year old Vidal has joined from Manchester City until the end of the campaign.

Prijovic has left and joined Swiss side FC Sion on a permanent deal.

During the January window the Rams have also signed defender Russell Anderson until the end of the season and taken Nicky Hunt on loan from Premier League Bolton Wanderers.

Aside from Prijovic, Luke Varney on loan to Sheffield Wednesday is the Club's only other departure during the window.

In one weeks time the emergency transfer window opens, allowing Football League clubs to make further loan signings.

Rams manager Nigel Clough says the squad is in good shape:

"We are happy with the business we have done during January and believe the balance of the squad is good and in a healthy position to take us forward.

"The players we have brought in during the month have improved us and added depth to the team.

"There are still a number of deals in the pipeline, which we may pursue when the emergency window opens again in one week's time or we may wait and conduct our business in the summer.

"I would say it is a possibility that we will be adding more faces to the squad before the season is over.

"It was always the plan and strategy to have a sensible and responsible window and that is exactly what we have done.

Wonder how different the official line to the mess we have made of this transfer window? Bringing back Tongue would have been a start.
