Phoenix
Slightly off original topic but it's an interesting read. "Klopp has demonstrated his faith in Liverpool’s youngsters during his first 12 months in charge, with nine academy players making senior debuts last season and players such as Ovie Ejaria, Ben Woodburn and Trent Alexander-Arnold involved in pre-season." Eat your heart out, Mel.

You have to feel for the little mites. If only they were as fortunate as I was in securing a YTS at 27.50 a week.

Bridgford Ram
I would love it if clubs offered salaries with money only becoming available upon certain achievements - International Caps / 10 first team appearances / 100 first team appearances. So instead of a £40k a week salary it could be £10k a week (still an awful lot of money) with £5k a week put aside and collated for when they get to 10 first team games, £20k put aside for when they get to 100 first team games & £20k put aside for when they get an international cap. Surely this would keep the player hungry to get the full worth of his contract - £55k a week, rather than feeling as though they have made it on £40k a week. It would never work unless it was made law as there would always be a club willing to pay big to attract the players.
