Day
DEAN Leacock is set to miss Derby County's clash with Ipswich Town at Portman Road today after being laid low all week with mumps. "He is still pretty poorly – he has not eaten solids for a week and has lost some weight. He's sick of soup!" said manager Nigel Clough. "If Dean wakes up this morning and feels a bit better, we might drive him down and stick him on the bench." Steve Davies (hamstring), Paul Green (foot), Jake Buxton (groin), Kris Commons (hamstring), Miles Addison (foot), Chris Porter (hip), Jay McEveley (cheekbone) and Ben Pringle (knee) are out. "Greenie is close but hasn't trained fully yet. He is scheduled to train on Monday ahead of the Coventry game," said Clough. "Jay McEveley has had a mask fitted to protect his fractured cheekbone but it is too soon to risk him." Fredrik Stoor has recovered from his eye injury and is fit, as are midfielders Stephen Pearson and Lee Hendrie. "We are just counting the days until we can get a few bodies back on the pitch. In the meantime, we have to get results," said Clough. Young midfielder Arnaud Mendy has returned early from his loan spell at Grimsby. "Neil Woods has taken over at Grimsby and he wants to give the lads up there a chance, so he has sent Arnaud back to us," said Clough. "He cannot play for us until his 28 days are up, though he can play for the Reserves." Clough has not ruled out adding another loan signing to his squad ahead of the Ipswich game. Derby have four loan signings – Paul Dickov, Jake Livermore, Bryan Hughes and Stoor – and a team can name five on match days. Left-back Mark Dudley is back from his loan spell at Alfreton Town and is included in the squad today. http://www.thisisderbyshire.co.uk/football/Rams-defender-Leacock-set-miss-Ipswich-trip/article-1470532-detail/article.html --------------------------------------------------------------- Kin ell Davies injured again??? and you thought Commons was injury prone. Boycie
I wish Nigel would rule out anymore loan signings, as he keeps spouting off about it, and nothing happens. How many times have we expected a fast striker to come in?
trigger
dickov came in fast as a striker, he was doing 130mph to sign the contract in a taxi:D

Day
Rob Hulse is Derby County's latest casualty, missing today's Championship clash with Ipswich Town due to a bad stomach illness. The star forward was given until the last possible minute to prove his fitness, but doctors say he is unable to feature. Also, Dean Leacock has not recovered sufficiently from his case of the mumps and misses out, as does Lee Hendrie, who strained a hamstring in training yesterday. So, the Rams will line up with five across the middle, with Paul Dickov being the only fit, recognized centre forward. Stephen Bywater is goal, behind a back four of Freddy Stoor, Paul Connolly, Shaun Barker and Dean Moxey. In the middle Derby can name Bryan Hughes, Jake Livermore, Stephen Pearson, Robbie Savage and Gary Teale. Dickov will lead the line up front. Derby County are only able to name five substitutes for the game, with Jake Buxton agreeing to be in the squad, despite not being match fit. Young professional Mark Dudley is one of those five, having been recalled from his loan at Alfreton Town. The Rams bench is Deeney, Croft, Buxton, Mills and Dudley. RAMS STARTING 11: Bywater Stoor Connolly Barker Moxey Hughes Livermore Savage Pearson Teale Dickov Subs: Deeney Croft Buxton Mills Dudley ------------------------------------------------ Why 4-5-1 and not give young Mills he go up front, the little bit of confidence I had has quickly gone. I hope I'm wrong although today will be Ipswich's first win of the season.
