JAT Posted October 28, 2015 Author Share Posted October 28, 2015 I've always had the impression he was brought in to "replace" what Will gives us - they are both link-up players who like to pass the ball around and start off attacking moves (with Hughes obviously being a class above, but Butterfield being able to find the net more). I always look at our midfield like this:DM - Thorne/HansonAttacking Engine - Bryson/Hendrick/JohnsonBall player - Hughes/Butterfield If a healthy squad has one replacement for every position, then we have one midfielder surplus to requirements. So it'll probably be Bryson or Hendrick who moves on.it'll be the one who can bring in the highest value with little disruption to the squad.
