Highgate
Playing for, or being happy with a draw seem to be classic 'Loss Aversion', the adherence to which damages teams overall prospects. After all it's 3 points for a win, and 1 for a draw....i think that should make it pretty straight forward.... go for the win. I'll concede that on very rare occasions at the end of a season, if you are playing against a promotion or survival rival that you are ahead of in the league, playing not to lose can make some sense. Otherwise treat draws for what the point system has determined they are.....closer to a defeat than a victory.Commentators often say after a draw...'the points were shared'. They were not shared, the teams got 1 each...and 1 point disappeared, never to be seen again. Draws are mini defeats.
RamNut
I agree with you about Martin, Bent and Ince but Russell must score 1 goal for every 10 clear cut chances he gets and Weimann has been gash since we signed himlol....he has only started 1 game.
