PearTree Ram
Nominate which left-back you think should be in the Rams fans’ all-time team: [url=http://therams.co.uk/notices/anniversary]http://therams.co.uk/notices/anniversary A goalkeeper – Colin Boulton – and a right-back – Ron Webster – have already been selected. Over the next seven months we will look for a left-back, centre-backs, right wing, left wing, central midfielders, strikers and then the manager. Both Boulton and Webster were runaway winners, and their team-mate from the 1974-5 Championship side, David Nish, is likely to be the man to beat in the race for the left-back slot. Nish was a top-class, elegant defender. Derby had to fork out a British record fee of £225,000 to sign him from Leicester City, who he had captained in the 1969 FA Cup final at the age of 21. He played 237 times for the Rams and one of his 14 goals came in the memorable 4-1 victory over Real Madrid in a European Cup second round tie at the Baseball Ground in 1975. The choice of left-back is down to you, the supporters. Fans have until the 25th of each month to cast their votes and can do so at therams.co.uk. All you need to do is fill in which player you choose for the position highlighted in the panel on the left and press send. Also include your name and contact details so you become eligible for a monthly prize draw.
