PearTree Ram
As Derby County Football Club celebrates its 125th anniversary it is fitting supporters should be given the opportunity to name their all-time Rams team. The Derby Evening Telegraph has teamed up with Derby County to launch a search for the legendary 11 and manager. Fans will be asked to vote on a position each month and the team will be pieced together over the next nine months. Players will be selected in the following order – goalkeeper, right-back, left-back, centre-backs, right wing, left wing, central midfielders, strikers and then the manager. And the selection process starts today with the search for the goalkeeper. The man receiving most votes will take his place on the teamsheet and the choice is down to you, the supporters. Only first team Keepers I can remember are Peter Shilton, Martin Taylor, Mart Poom, Lee Camp and obviously more recently Bywater etc.
Boycie
I never saw him play. Who saw Bloomer play? and look at all the fuss about him! Forget the past! I say, live for today!
Day
I don't make a fuss over him Never even bothered to learn the words to Steve Bloomers watching is that wrong? I'm all for respecting the 'legends' of the game, although I think the word is used to often now. Legend status should be kept for true legends of the game, Pele, Maradona, Van Basten. PearTree Ram
Colin Boulton seems top at the moment. Obviously never saw him play. But his record speaks for itself.
Day
What is his record? you can never find stats for keepers. Wiki says 272 games, be interested in how many he conceded in that many games compared to the likes of Shilton etc. if you can find that info.
