vicky-27 Posted July 31, 2009 Posted July 31, 2009 Terrible shame - he was one of the game's true gent
Dangerous Posted August 1, 2009 Posted August 1, 2009 Unlike the mercenaries who carve up football today Bobby Robson was dignity personafied.A true legend. What he did with Ipswich is on a par with Cloughs time with Derby and Forest (albeit, not quite as good, but still a magnificent achievement).I was gutted to hear of his death.A gentleman.
Day Posted August 2, 2009 Posted August 2, 2009 Has anyone read his autobiography? I've had it a while now waiting to be read, will be starting it tomorrow, will be nice to refresh the mind as alot of his England time came when I was a little nipper.
Dangerous Posted August 2, 2009 Posted August 2, 2009 I remember what he said of Maradona after the little argie cheated in the world cup against Robsons England."It wasnt the hand of God....it was the hand of a rascal".
Perky1106 Posted August 2, 2009 Posted August 2, 2009 RIP Sir Bobby Robson. A great ambassador for football and he achieved such a lot with his teams.
CumbrianRam Posted August 2, 2009 Posted August 2, 2009 RIP Sir Bobby a great man who I had the pleasure to met twice. Football will never have a man as humble as him.
