The 28-year-old, who is one of a number of players said to be on their way out of Bloomfield Road, was previously mentioned in connection with the Blues in March, when Blackburn, Leeds and Nottingham Forest were also linked with the Scottish international, and last summer before he joined the Seasiders from Rangers. Broadfoot, who is 6ft 3in tall, was a youth player at Hibernian but started his seniorcareer with St Mirren where he made more than 150 appearances in five years before moving on to Rangers on a Bosman free transfer in the summer of 2007. Capped four times at full level by Scotland, scoring once, in addition to appearances at U21 and B levels, Irvine-born Broadfoot made 106 starts and 12 sub appearances for Rangers, scoring once during his five years with the Glasgow club before his move to the Tangerines last summer. We have to wait for posts complaining our lack of ambition and being out bidded by much smaller clubs and Clough out before we can close it.
