PearTree Ram
Originally posted by vicky-27;4667 Has to be Idiakez for me My favourite Rams are based on what i've seen - vids or read, but one player i did see play at least once and on that day receive the JS Trophy was Martin Taylor at the BBG This just sums him up for me.... A one-time apprentice coal miner, Taylor was signed from non-league Mile Oak Rovers as an understudy to Peter Shilton in 1986. After several short-term loan deals at lower-league clubs he became the Rams number one between the posts. The Tamworth born stopper was named player of the year in 1993/94 having played in every minute of every game. However, in 1994 Taylor suffered a double leg fracture in a game against Southend Utd after a horrendous challenge by Dave Regis. After the game, all the talk was of Taylor's courage. Not only had he dived in at Regis's feet, somehow, even after the sickening collision, he had managed to crawl to the loose ball and push it beyond the by line to safety.
