Always got the feeling with Rosenior, and Cocu especially, that it was retain possession at all costs and this stopped the players from taking risks with passing thru the lines, hence recycling yo GK even from throws and free kicks 10 yrds in opposition half.
Personally I find that mind numbing and frustrating as hell, we talk about Mac 1 as best times, iirc we swept forwards quickly with purpose, but you need the right players to do that, it will take time
I was simply referring to the formation and consummation of the contact, without the delivery of consideration all the elements required to make a contact have not been met. I have listed out the basic legal elements of a contract in an earlier post, a contract is not a contract until all these are met

I looked at every player who made at least one start in season 2020-21 (I ignored appearances from the bench, but if people are desperately interested, I might take this analysis a stage further and include substitute appearances, look at minutes played etc) with a view to examining how the team performed overall when each player made an appearance.
It's a bit quick and dirty at the moment (it took me a couple of hours to build the data table, but only a few minutes to write a couple of scripts to give me the figures below)
A grand total of 30 players were in the respective starting lineups.
