  1. Tempted to play Hourihane for this one. Need to stay positive and go for goal. His left boot may get the goal, he has been rested, and I don’t think we are necessarily playing against the most high intensity midfield.
  2. And we are likely to be leading with Waghorn or Washington. Hot money on a 0-0 unless Sibbers can conjure another winner. Any news on Collins ? Presumably not yet back in training.
  3. 90 pts should do it, 92 certainly will. Focus on that rather than what other teams are doing. Win the next game, that is all for now.
  4. 4 wins should be enough. Really helpful if two of those are in the next two games, but not sure where the goals are coming from without Collins and Gayle. Hopefully most games are against teams with nothing to play for by the time we play them. Games against the bottom sides look easy on paper but they are usually fighting tooth and nail.
  5. Warne bold (or bould ?) with the subs but it paid off. Credit him for the positivity.
  6. Huge result, again Adams making a difference. But squad is creaking with Nyambe out, Collins, Bird and now Gayle. Hoping Gayle’s injury not too serious. Well done Rams and Paul Warne.
  7. Brewers just had a stonewall pen denied
  8. Lincoln have the second meanest defence after Pompey having conceded one less than us
  9. I think the Collins injury may be a blessing as Gayle really is a class above.
  10. Still think Warne needs to get over his emotional angst of signing Bradley and not giving him a game. Nelson and Cash were solid and we do have full back cover for Nyambe and Forsyth. Putting Bradley in every time the opposition have a tall striker is nuts, particularly when as we’ve just seen he doesn’t command the airways anyway.
  11. Don’t get 5 at the back when 4 went well for most of the season. Can only think it’s about giving star signing Bradley a game. I hope Warne isnt jeopardising a season for the sake of keeping Bradley sweet. The rest of the season isn’t about keeping what we have, it’s about being ultra positive and going for the jugular.
  12. Recurring messages are don’t play 5 at the back, and don’t play Hourihane. We needed a striker in the window, didn’t get one, then inevitably Collins immediately injured, Gayle brought in but not selected. CBT brought in but not selected. We were told these players would improve the first X1 - why are they not playing ? This is no time to withdraw into a shell and be negative, but that is where Warne is right now. Promotion isn’t going to be gifted, we have to go get it.
  13. Give yourself a pat on the back for apparently finding an obscure stat that appears to show Bird having suck-seeded. According to BBC he is joint 9th in League 1 assists with 8 other players. He’s scored 3 goals in 25 appearances, with 6 assists. That doesn’t look bad (although 3 goals isn’t enough) but if there was a stat on running back and making crucial tackles he would be somewhere close to the bottom. For sideways and backward passes he’d be vying with Hourihane at the top. Sorry his overall output isn’t good enough for the talent he has, and yes no doubt that has much to do with playing in a 2 man midfield with lazy bones Hourihane. Maybe why he is leaving the nest.
  14. Bird has been flightless for too long playing well below his capability. All flap and fart but no flight. He’d rather sit on his perch pecking at seed and has rarely been out of first gear this season. Too safe, likes backwards and sideways, too slow, can’t run won’t run, not the chap you need in a scrap. I’m sure he’ll find exhibition football somewhere.
  15. Despite the disappointment I am pleased we didn’t play silly buggers with Wendies for Smith and Gregory. The latter wasn’t good enough 3 seasons ago.
  16. Depressing stuff. Invest from a position of strength they say. And this. Brewers had a better window. Really concerned about the stalemate we face now. We have an owner who loves the EFL business plan which requires books to be balanced. He likes it because he doesn’t have money to invest himself but probably won’t want to sell until we get promoted which could be this side of never. We have a coaching team that isn't the best at attracting players, cannot see the importance of a strong midfield. Warne’s additions havent been the best either, blowing this years budget on Bradley, Ward, Elder, Fornah none of whom improved first X1. We have an academy which the club must see as a cost centre rather than profit centre. It just doesn’t deliver the goods I’m afraid. That situation looks like a stalemate while the squad continues to age. Hope Clowes is searching for a new investor rather than being starstuck with the status quo. Yes he saved the club blah blah but there comes a time when that is in the distant past and it no longer is a get out of jail free card. We need a Warnock type to light a few rockets under playing and non-playing staff.
  17. Too many of these players stealing the cash, but really have no other ambition than short term cash for a 90 min jog around the pitch in first gear. Yep Bird and Hourihane I’m mostly talking about you idle barstewards …
  18. Seriously, bleep tests 8am every morning until they can look bothered. Get rid of Cashin and Bird. TJJ a joke shop loan extension given what we already knew. Deal with the midfield NOW …..
  19. We are slow, unfit and have one strategy only for putting the ball in the net. The subs are pre-ordained to award chosen players (eg Bradley) some appearance money. Total shambles. Blame the weather incoming.
  20. This. Sadly ours cannot or won’t run. Both idle fookers with limited athleticism ….
  21. Sorry but Bird is not physically fit or strong enough to play at a level higher than this. The guy has zero ambition to improve himself which is a shame because he is decent with ball at feet. But if allowed to drift and stand still he will take it every time rather than burst a b****** trying to influence a match. Warne needs to light a huge rocket under him or just get rid.
  22. Would be nice to occasionally come out playing with fluency from the start and score a goal in the first quarter of the game …..
  23. These are good points. Having Foz and Nyambe makes a big difference, for example Wilson gets further forward. Washington would be another good option going forward. Fornah made a good start but seems to have lost the plot, not sure what’s going on there.
  24. Concerned that CBT will replace Barks and we play in the same way. We need a midfield signing, someone with energy. This squad has outperformed in terms of results, but don’t expect it to continue.
