Joel
at this rate we wont have ateam to start with like i said no cover at center back no cover at left back no cover in central midfield and even sdavis is going soon all we will replace them with will be lower division players cos this board wont let us spend any money for a decent player cos the wages we pay are far to low Oh don't be ridiculous. Talk about hitting the panic button. Bloody ridiculous.
smiffy
Didn't that happen to Reading last year? Yeah Joely mate, but they had a good manager 'http://www.dcfcfans.co.uk/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/sad' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=':(' />

Fact is, we're skint and we're not going to buy the league any time soon. The best way of climbing this division is to sell those that'd command the highest fees and replace them with cash left over to buy others. Or plumit down the league, those that demand the higgest fees are normally your best players. I cant think of many clubs that adopt this stance that are successfull, unless of course the players go for big money.
Alph
What is this obsession with young players. There is no guarantee any youngster will ever get better with age. 29 isn't an old CB. Experience counts for something. Especially in a CB. Shackell being a 29yr old pensioner is no reason to look for a younger cheaper player. There's often a reason things are cheaper. They don't stick random price tags on players. I'm not saying Shackell can't be replaced. I'm saying Why replace him if he doesn't ask to leave? Why replace him for less than OTT money? You add to good players. Not sell them. So let's just say we made 500k profit on Shack (random figures just for the sake of it) and we sell Savies for 800k.... We spent 900k on Shackell? Why? Why did we do that? Because he's a "proven Championship" player with "lots of experience". What then will we do with this cash we get? First we have to buy a good CB and striker before we can even begin spending whatever is left.
Stimacked
We are now almost certain to be one of the least experienced teams in the division. This year the Division looks even tougher than last. Worse is that both the Red Dogs and Fester as well as Lxxds all look like being bankrolled. We are firmly one of the main relegation candidates along with probably Barnsley Palace Peterboro and Millwall. Make no mistake this is entirely down to our current board conming us into believing they can make us competative in this league.

I cant think of many clubs that adopt this stance that are successfull, unless of course the players go for big money. All depends on who the players are replaced with. It makes sense, to me at least, to sell one player and replace them with two others of similar quality. There are plenty of clubs who buy players cheaply and sell for more cash and then repeat the process. I can understand the frustration of losing one of our better players but he's certainly not irreplacable. What grinds most is the massive overreaction to the sale. What grinds most is the massive overreaction to the sale. Unfortunately some Derby fans are "Black and White" in more than one way. There's no moderation in anything. I'm gonna be checking out off the forum for a little while. I'll speak to the ones that don't "give up" on us when I come back. (Ooohh, does that count as an "I'm Leaving!!!" post? jezram
Positives Yes Shacks is gone as is Green and Maguire, with SDavies, Bailey and Addison to join them, but think of the transfer and wage budget now, it's kind of like working with a blank canvas and we seem to have bought good players on small wages well over the last couple of years
nfb
Its all falling on deaf ears, no-one at the club listens to us venting our disappointment, i thought i had an idea in the middle of last season what the board and NC were trying to do, with players wages, fee's, FFP etc, but now after Appleby's statement about the prem etc, and the call to cut budgets again, i fear they dont have a clue..... and i know im being pessimistic, but, i fear the worst again for this season, unless NC shows that he really can spot talent, and a bargain........ Fingers crossed lads. 'http://www.dcfcfans.co.uk/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/unsure' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='' />
