Got an account with Ladbrokes? Be careful

I've got an account with them, associated with my yahoo email address which generally gets spammed to death and I barely ever read it.

I noticed today they've taken £2 off me just because I rarely log in. Here's the email:

"Inactive Account administration fee charged

Dear Customer,

We recently wrote to you about an Administrative Fee which would be applied to your Ladbrokes account.

The Fee has now been taken from your account and was calculated as either £2 (or currency equivalent) or 5% of the balance on the date at which your account became inactive, whichever is greater. When calculating the charge, we have included balances from all wallets (including poker, casino etc). The Fee itself has been taken from the Sportsbook wallet and this may result in a negative balance if funds were held elsewhere.

If your account retains a total positive balance a further Fee will become due on the 1st day of every subsequent month. To prevent further Administration Fees, please reactivate your account or withdraw your balance. Please note: No Fee will be deducted beyond that which would take the aggregate of all balances into a position below £0."

Basically Laddies want to take my money off me month by month until they've wiped my cash out. B*stards! Just rung the nice lady in Dubai and told her to shove it where the sun don't shine. Let's see if the other bookies follow suit and start shafting customers.

A few gambling sites do this, absolutely disgusting. Just withdraw all funds on accounts you rarely use is the only thing you can do really.

You have to discuss it with the nice lady from Dubai if you want to cancel. *****.

Or you can transfer all your credit out. The message says they won't take you into negative balance - they'll just eat away all your money till you're broke.

oh that's ok then, don't have any money in it as I rarely use it. Still pretty scummy though.

Ladbrokes odds are terrible tbh, I'd get yourself a Bet365 or William Hill account, they'll have a better price than Ladbrokes for pretty much everything.

Betfair have even better odds than those two, but take a small commission. It normally still ends up that you get more money
