vicky-27
For better or worse ? When we were kids we never had playstations/computers/i.pods etc We went out on our bikes or walked to see if our friends were in We ate mud and worms and did not get sick We stayed out all day no one could reach us and we survived We used jumpers for goalposts We made go-karts and dens and used our imagination Do kids say please and thank you anymore ? Do they have to wait till christmas or birthday's for 'special' presents Can they add up without a calculator? We had no silly names like Channel.Apple or Blade Easter eggs were only on sale at Easter You coud ring the bank and speak to real people who you could understand We didn't have 999 channels of rubbish The shops shut at 5 and no-one starved Link to comment https://dcfcfans.uk/topic/574-times-are-a-changing/ Share on other sites
Perky1106
Bank holidays were holidays and nobody worked. Teachers had authority over pupils. A smacking didn't hurt an unruly child (me). David
I remember pea shooters, I used to buy mine from that joke shop up the side of Debenhams next to the side enterence. Used to be in there every Saturday getting a tub of refils to fire across McDonalds. Perky1106
We carry knives to cut people up innit blad, it's well sik. Neva beats gunz tho, blowz peeps brains out yeah. Although I did get into a few fights at school, most of which were not started by myself, I feel lucky never to have been stabbed or shot like some unfortunate kids have. The fact is, this is society changing. The streets aren't safe for anyone but some kids prefer to avoid it when some take protection into their own hands resulting in others doing the same. With a severe lack of police law enforcement, the result is weapon assisted war in some areas. It's tragic really.
