pay off for davies would have to be by mutual agreement- would he agree to 50% pay off maybe, maybe not. he is in training now so we will see how fit he can get.

As for Porter having injections - pure speculation. In his own words his hip has settled down (it was in the DET during the past 2 weeks). The Bursa has healed and he feels comfortable with it. According to the official injury updates he is back in full training too

Davies would take it if he knows there is no more football for him here at Derby, 50% is better than waiting six months playing no football and then nothing.

Why is it pure speculation aboiut the injections, he has been having them the past 6 months to get him on the pitch and match fit.

Wheres the source on injections? The only mention of them I can remember were for treatment for the bursa which has now healed.

Davies is still undergoing treatment and is lpoking like returning in a few weeks. If he feels he can get fit why would he forgo half of his wages? Especially when he obviously still in the managers plans.

Here:

The Rams start pre-season friendlies at the weekend and will be without Chris Porter. The 26 year-old striker has had to have injections into his hip. No further news on the injury has come forward but he is not expected to be ready to resume training until Monday. This will mean he will also miss the game at Southend. It is hoped that he may be fit enough to resume games on Wednesday next week.

How many times have we seen that Davies is returning only for him to go back to the operating theatre????

sick note and nest to pay up his contract and get rid for a new player to come in on the same wages and can play week in week out.

That quote was from 5 minths ago before preseason and gives no indication that the injections are still happening. The latest reports from the club and the player are that the injury has healed, meaning no need for further treatment.

The latest injury to Davies is not related to the others and was a result of a training collision. It could have happened to any member of the squad.

Im sorry but my mate is a physio who has been working with Porter, his injury is not healed at all, they cant sort it out as they all the specialist they have been to cant work out what the problem is so they are just going to let him play with it and see how it goes. I am no expert and havent spoken to my mate about this but im sure to enable him to play with the least amount of pain he would be having injections.

It seems strange that the player would go on record as saying the problemappears to be solved and he feels comfortable if it werent the case

"Originally, it was definitely a bursa issue and I had an injection to clear that up," said Porter.

"But then the physios thought I might have a gluteus medius tendon problem, which, over the space of time and with the exercises I have been doing, may have finally healed.

"We're just hoping I don't get a recurrence of it.

Didn't Clough say they are just going to see how it goes in the telegraph the other week just before the burnley game?

DET (27 november)

"His hip is still not right but we are at the stage where we are saying 'get out there and give it a go. If you break down, you break down, we are not going to be any worse off'."
