I can answer this one.

Right, let's say you're after a ticket for Wembley, all sold out and you create a topic asking if anyone has a spare.

You can press follow on the topic.

Turn push notifications on for following topics.

The second a reply is made your phone/iPad will ping you with a notification without having to sit here all day refreshing the page.

Yes, you can have email notifications instead, yet with so much junk mail, to turn your email notifications on or even keep having to manually check can be a nightmare.

Thats one usage case.

Another is, you have an ego that likes to be massaged by internet likes, drop a cracking post winding up the Forest fans, turn your reaction notifications on for push and your phone will gently massage your leg with its soothing vibrations.

Many more usage cases to be found.

Thag gif would be better sent to someone like....Elon Musk 😜

- Notification badges do not currently work, they use a separate API that will be enabled in the next forum software update that will be released soon.

Badges are now working.

Notifications are also now available using Safari on MacOS.
