CumbrianRam
Derby County's club mascot Rammie was the winner of the 'Daffodil Derby' last night. The event was held at Southwell Racecourse in Nottingham to officially launch the new partnership between The Football League and Marie Curie Cancer Care. Marie Curie Cancer Care will be the Official Charity Partner of The Football League for the 2010/11 season. The charity, which provides care, free of charge, to terminally ill patients in their own homes and in its hospices, was selected following a vote of over 25,000 Football League fans last season. As a result Marie Curie Cancer Care will benefit from unrivalled exposure across The League, including support and fundraising from all 72 clubs. 27 Football League mascots took part, with Rammie coming out on top at with a respectable winning time of 27.90 seconds. He pipped Hartlepool's H'angus the Monkey to win the race, with Leeds United's Lucas the Kop Cat in third spot. http://www.dcfc.co.uk/page/NewsDetail/0,,10270~2110261,00.html
