Grimsby's new Arena Airsoft opens today and gaming enthusiasts will be getting ready for the ultimate battle. The 10,000 square foot centre, complete with atmospheric lights, sound effects and props has opened up in King Edward Street. Around £30,000 has been spent on the army style arena, which resembles a scene from a film set. The activity, which originated in Japan, is similar to paintballing and includes shooting plastic rounds from replica fire arms. Sean Atkinson, who has invested in the business, along with six other directors, said workers have been flat out trying to get the centre finished since October. He explained: "There are a few outdoor centres but not purpose built arenas like this one. I know you have lazer quest at willows but don't remember owt like this. if you just travel down the a52 to nottingham you can get a real life situation 24 hours a day 7 days a week, and you dont even have to pay either! tin hat and flak jacket not supplied .
