20 year old Blackburn Midfielder came through their Academy system, never played for the first team and his contract expires at the end of the season. Played for us in yesterdays 2-1 friendly win against Peterborough and is training with us for the rest of the season.

“He’s training with us for the rest of the season and then we will make a decision,†said Clough.

All I can find is from Blackburn OS:

Son of former goalkeeping coach Vince O'Keefe, Local boy Josh is a tall central midfielder who has an eye for goal.

After finishing the Academy campaign top-scorer with eleven goals, Josh made the move up the Reserve team squad and featured before the end of the 2006/07 season.

Last season the midfielder continued his progress with another impressive season, scoring four goals from his 16 appearances.

Signed a new one-year deal in April 2008, that will keep him at the club until the summer of 2009.

If he was any good would they let his contract expire?

You let your up and coming players go out on loan with a veiw to them being sold if you have any business sense.

If he makes a name for himself at Derby, I'll go to the foot of my stairs.
