North East Ram
You may have clicked on this thinking what the ruddy eck is a thread about the Ballon d'Or doing on a Derby forum. Well I was reading an article / listening to the accompanying Guardian podcast about odd players being listed in the Ballon d'Or nominations (who is Robby Landers?) and saw this: https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ballon_d'Or_1989 A Ram nominated in the 1989 Ballon d'Or! Granted, a world famous Ram but I didn't know this. It was pre WC 90 too although we had a great season (for us anyway). So it got me thinking has there ever been a Derby player nominated besides this one? I think we've only had 1 PFA POTY (Dave Mackay in 69?). Roy, Todd, Hector, Hinton, George? (surely Bobby should've won world player of the 80s) Answers on a postcard (or respond here), The Guardian link for those interested: https://www.theguardian.com/football/2018/mar/07/nessun-dorma-podcast-jack-charlton-euro-96-paul-merson
