Plymouth wanted to take the 26-year-old right-back on loan for the rest of the season. Connolly made 177 appearances for the Pilgrims and helped them to win promotion before he joined the Rams in 2008. His contract at Derby runs to the summer of 2011 but is out of the first-team picture. He has not featured in the last four matches.
