Addison out for season

I think we already all knew but Clough has confirmed it.

DERBY County youngster Miles Addison is out for the rest of the season.

Addison suffered a stress fracture of his right foot in the home victory over Blackpool last month and has missed the last three matches.

Whether or not the 20-year-old will undergo surgery remains to be seen.

"We will not be seeing him until pre-season now which is a blow but one we expected," said manager Nigel Clough.

"We are still not sure whether he will have surgery but the foot will be immobilised for a while and the most important thing at his age is to get it sorted.

"He has shown this season that whatever position – midfield or centre-back, and he looks more comfortable at centre-half at the moment – he has a big future and is certainly in the plans for next season and beyond."

Nacer Barazite could be available for Saturday's home game against Bristol City.

The 18-year-old, currently on loan from Arsenal, dislocated his shoulder in the win against Nottingham Forest at the City Ground on February 21.

He is due to do some light training today.

"Nacer has had the OK from Arsenal and we think he will be involved Saturday," said Clough.

Derby will play a behind-closed-doors match against Peterborough United at Moor Farm today.

I know its a bit of a loss but could be a blessing in disguise for us.

He's only a young un so this lay off should stop him from "burning out" as they say. Hopefully a good pre season will get him ready and he can be a major part of a promotion push next year.
