gawa_ram
He confiscates them off the kids. "I'll be having that now sonny - you kids don't respect the classics these days. Now open Pride and Prejudice, page 48 and read from there" PTR then settles down with a comic inside of his copy...

Alan Moore is not happy though it seems.
Perky1106
Read the comics - they are excellent. Have you seen the film yet? Is it scene-for-scene from the comic? I'm off to see it on Wednesday. Perky1106
I've read it and thought it was class. I didn't expect it to be so political. I'd recommend it definitely. Doesn't beat the Damned Utd though Which, if you didn't already know, a film interpretation is being released soon, starring Michael Sheen. Alan Moore is a genius, he is not too happy with the film versions of his films though. By the way the guy who made the Bloomer bust is a good friend of alan Moore lol...he told me. Perky1106
Both geniuses. Alan Moore has a huge beard. I just read that he wrote V for Vendetta and he wasn't happy about that being made into a film either. Though you can't really complain about your work being made into a film because more people will have read his novel and he will subsequently make a load more money. Perky1106
Saw the film last night. 9/10. Great film. Love some of the action scenes and the way they contrast with the calmer scenes. Substantial enough story and very faithful to the original comic. In my opinion could have been lowered to a 15, as this would have given the film more takings and a higher profile. Some realistic, perhaps unnecessary violence with one particular bit that was rather hard to watch. Overall very entertaining and riveting. Whatever you do, do not take children to see it. It's not Batman.

It's not Batman. It looks great, if you have read the graphic novel then it does help, but even those that have will be surprised at some of the things in it. Some bits are missing, but i'm sure they will be added into the extended DVDs and so on. Looks good...

Perky1106
I'm not sure it beats The Dark Knight but I really enjoyed it and it's a certain for the DVD list when it's out eventually. Like Pear Tree said, it is probably better to read the graphic novel first. Like Spiderman, it is difficult to do justice to such a magnificent comic through film but I think Snyder has made the best effort possible. I thought Dr. Manhattan had been done brilliantly. He seemed very distant and progressively void of human emotion. A much better film than the camp 300 and The League of Extraordinary Gentleman.
