McRamFan
Thanks for that Eddie. I suspect that their (American based) software struggles with British addresses. It uses a method of 'Enter postcode and select address'. That's ok, but it then seems to transpose lines of the address, which presumably comes up with a mismatch with my credit card address. I still think it's totally unacceptable to ask for bank statements, Inland revenue letters and the like, to verify a
Guest
I would guess that your credit card is the one that flagged the purchase in the first instance. The company are just covering themselves as they will be the ones responsible should the transaction of gone tits up. I can be understand why you refused to corporate, but if they wanted to rip you off in the first instance, they have got your credit card details, address and I presume security no already? If it's an overseas transaction it would also have to be screened, so that may be the reason for the questions put to you, as they could face large fines if they didn't follow procedures. Now I have bored you I'll get back in my box :-)
