jam doughnut Posted June 1, 2014 Share Posted June 1, 2014 All top professional pitches are now reinforced fibre turf on a bed of fibre sand. The pitch at iPro did look a bit strange when you saw it close up; a sort of unnatural slick, slimy dark green carpet. Part of the reason they have to water it so much with the added benefit that the post goal celebratory slide doesn't mean half your skin is left behind. Changed days from the first pitch I was ever on celebrating, Wembley 77....the turf then just looked like the turf in the back garden.... Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
