Dawkins interview in the Independent

His performance away at Wigan last year showed us just what he is capable of - he was as good as Bryson was at Millwall and Yeovil, and that's saying something. A bit predictable at times, his tendency to cut inside nearly all the time from the left has seen him run into a few brick walls recently, but on his day he can be devastatingly effective.

Definitely a plus, and a player who will continue to improve with games.

Good article.

Saw him play in his first (or was it second?) match for Derby at Watford. He looked incredibly rusty and was inconspicuous for the most part, but did make a couple of ambitious passes that paid off.

I guess at that point my opinion of McClaren's signings were tainted by his time at Forest, but I'm very happy that Dawkins has proved a diamond in the rough.

Hopefully he'll go from strength to strength - needs to score more though (as do the rest of 'em right now)!
