Striker Emanuel Villa could be heading out of Pride Park only a year after joining Derby County in a £2m deal.

Uncertainty has surrounded the 26-year-old’s future at the club and there was talk of him returning to South America in the transfer window.

Now it seems the Argentinian is attracting interest from Greece and Switzerland. It is likely any move would be a loan with a view to a permanent deal.

Villa was signed from Mexican club UAG Tecos by former Rams boss Paul Jewell in January last year and has a contract until 2011.

He made 16 appearances in the Premier League and scored three goals but has struggled for a place this season.

He has started only one of the last 14 matches – the defeat by Wolverhampton Wanderers at Molineux on December 9.

Villa had a run in the side earlier this season and scored six goals, four of them in the Carling Cup, including a hat-trick at Brighton.
