The plus side is cheaper booze, more culture, slightly nicer weather, and a change of scenery. The downside is it's full of French people. Is France as near as Nottingham? Sorry, you of no use. If, say, you're posting from Dover, Jersey or Lyon, France is probably closer. If you're in Mansfield, I reckon Nottingham is a closer bet.
