Alph
Why have Ireland got "the best fans in the world"? The most stupid comment ever. From ITV though, it's pretty standard.

Alph
Great to see the fans like that, both sides were singing/clapping with each other. Beautiful. True. Was nice to see. Good fans there tonight.

CumbrianRam
Why? Did Green even touch the ball? Or touch a spaniard? The only thing he did was fail to track Fabregas for the goal.
Alph
The only thing he did was fail to track Fabregas for the goal. Give him chance. See what he's like after 12 games!
ladyram
Spain. They were like a cat with a trapped mouse in midfield. Ireland. Although well thrashed, couldn't win owt in midfield, were dire in defence with a goalie who's a bit past it - didn't give up, kept going and showed some grit. Good on them and their fans, they rocked.
ladyram
And thank god it's gone off, I can't stand Adrian Chiles, he has all the charisma of a fish what's been clubbed to death.
Alph
And the questions he puts to the pundits that are supposed to educate us all. "surely Gareth, when your a defender and Cristiano Ronaldo is running at you, you just want to run and hide in the crowd?" You what? Good luck answering that Gareth. SillyBilly
Their fans have the same mentality we had in the prem debacle, they turn up for the craic, the beer and a sing song. Introduce expectation and you see a mentality change. Having said that, I believe all home nations/constituents of the British Isles have superiour support to our continental cousins in European competition. Can you imagine how many England fans would be in Poland if we were playing there and shared a land border with it, as with the Germans?
