AndyB
On Radio Derby yesterday, Clough was asked if he wanted Green to stay. He said yes because he's an experienced international player who can cover a few positions then he said if Green didn't stay he would certainly not go out looking for an experienced replacement but will look for a young player who can do that job. Last summer both Glick and Clough said they wanted experienced Championship players to push for the top six. Less than a year later has this policy changed already? trekkie_ram
Despite arguably being a centre mid, Paul Green is being used as a right midfielder and back-up right back. Nigel Clough wanted an experienced midfield general (which Paul Green isn't). Add to this the fact that Craig Bryson & James Bailey have an extra years experience. I'd happily get rid of Paul Green if we could find a right sided Jamie Ward.
davenportram
Yep a young utility player covering MF and right back instead of an experienced utility player is vastly different to saying we don't want an experienced midfield general in the middle. Don't think it's a change of policy just saying what he would do to replace green. .
Bingy
It has evolved more than changed. That's due to the players performances such as Hendrick, and O'Brien.

Difficult to tell if anything has changed based on one example. What has changed is the publicly stated levels of ambition in the transfer market. This changed between season ticket selling time last year and the end of the summer transfer window. Since then, over the past six months, the noises coming out of PP have consistently been aimed at downplaying fans expectations about what they should expect in the transfer market. AndyB
I totally agree ramesses. We always get spin at season ticket renewal time!
SouthernExcile
agree with the view that its not necessarily a change in policy but an example of what he would do if green went
