"Fair Play" Rules set to make no to the Championship

All of our cost cutting and penny pinching has put the club in a better position but reading about the new "fair play" rules in the following article makes a mockery of them. Even if they are implemented (which is far from certain) the consequences of not adhering to them seems laughable!

"The Plaza @ Pride Park has been designed to help Derby County meet football's new "fair play" rules, which mean clubs must break even over the course of a season.

If they fail to do so, they could be barred from European competitions."

Oh no, if we don't play by the rules we can't go in the Champions League- and that would be totally likely otherwise! What a joke....

there is that I suppose! Apologies for the title not making sense- fat fingered it!

Does anyone know where I can find out the full consequences of not adhering to the rules anywhere? All I have found is the European thing- surely they should say that a team that flouts the rules would not be allowed to be be promoted or something?

Bah! those rules got my hopes up that we might see teams with just a bit more balance.

But then City and Leicester renamed the stadiums and Man Utd were on about having some big sponsorship deal on their training equipment i think.

Training equipment!!?

Next year or whatever you'll see Chelsea pay £30m for Pato or summat which will be completely financed by a dumbbell in the gym with Santander sprayed across it. 'http://www.dcfcfans.co.uk/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/rolleyes' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='' />

It seems a transfer embargo and or points deduction will be the punishment.

It all seems a bit up in the air with a lot of ifs and maybes. Surely they should be hammering out exactly what is going to happen if they want this in place by next season? How come Blackpool aren't signed up for it? Strange that 'http://www.dcfcfans.co.uk/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/ph34r' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='' />
